“Impressionism” is a photographic filter application designed to emulate the characteristics of Impressionist-style oil paintings, enabling users to transform photos, illustrations, and videos into artwork that reflects this art movement with ease.

<li>Select the desired photo or video via the “Camera” button.</li>
<li>Once the media is displayed, customize the appearance by adjusting the “Brush” and “Color” controls, as well as relevant sliders. Keep in mind that to save images or videos with non-default “Brush” or “Color” settings, an additional purchase is required.</li>
<li>Tap the “Save” button to store the edited media directly into your device’s photo gallery (Camera Roll).</li>

Context on “Impressionism”:
The term refers to a prominent art movement originating in France during the late 19th century, characterized by vibrant color palettes and an emphasis on capturing light and atmospheric effects. Notable Impressionist artists include Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cezanne, Camille Pissarro, Berthe Morisot, Jean-Baptiste Armand Guillaumin, and Alfred Sisley.
This movement emerged partly as a response to the advent of photography, which provided highly accurate depictions of subjects; painters sought new forms of expression that could not be replicated by photographic means. Impressionists focused on conveying texture, light variations, and fleeting moments. Initially rejected by mainstream society, their work eventually gained acceptance and profoundly influenced subsequent modern artists such as Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin.

Using “Impressionism,” users can recreate vivid, light-filled artworks reminiscent of traditional Impressionist paintings from photographs stored on smartphones or tablets. Adjustments to color, brush strokes, brightness, and saturation allow for closer emulation of specific styles within this movement.
